Clinical Trials BC
Continuing education and training
Our robust educational program helps research organizations and their staff excel within one of the world’s most heavily-regulated industries. Our support helps British Columbia grow a clinical research workforce with the required skills, knowledge and training to conduct world-class clinical trials.
We offer the following education and training offerings and resources to clinical research personnel across the province.
Webinars
Clinical Trials BC webinars provide current information about clinical trials in BC. Our signature webinar series, ASK US, is held at various times throughout the year. We invite experts who are in senior positions to discuss and answer questions about specific clinical research topics.

Professional development and training initiatives
- Clinical Research Professional (CRP) certification program: We offer financial and resource support to help clinical research professionals get certified with ACRP and SoCRA.
- Quality management program: We provide services, resources and support for the development and implementation of Quality Management System (QMS) in BC centres, health authorities, academic institutions and agencies. We also offer a quality leadership course and mentorship.
- Audit & Inspection Preparedness (AIPP) Program: Clinical Trial BC’s AIPP education and training program focuses on compliance and quality, delivered through the lens of inspection.
- N2 provincial membership: The Network of Networks (N2) is an alliance of research networks and organizations. Its members can access N2 educational courses (available via CITI-Canada). Clinical Trials BC funds and manages the provincial BC membership, so that N2 benefits are available to clinical researchers in BC health authorities and academic organizations.
- Canadian Clinical Trials Training Platforms: Through our partnerships with CANTRAIN, CAN-TAP-TALENT, CBITN and StrokeCog clinical trials training platforms (CTTP), we help increase clinical trials training, expertise and capacity in BC. The CTTP awards enable graduate and postdoctoral trainees to develop competencies in designing, leading and working in clinical trial research. The clinical research professional internships offer protected time and/or expenses to gain knowledge and experience through virtual or onsite practicums and the learning management system, integrating modular, online training with experiential and engaged learning opportunities and expert mentorship.
