Research Ethics BC is pleased to announce that three new partners â Douglas College, Vancouver Island University and Royal Roads University â have joined the provincial network that supports a harmonized system for the ethical review of multi-jurisdictional research.
The addition of these three new partners increases the total number of Research Ethics Boards (REBs) to 22 academic institutions and health authorities that are committed to streamlining the ethics review process. REBC partners also have access to a number of educational and training opportunities, access to a network of research ethics professionals, and capacity building.
Since 2018, the Provincial Research Ethics Platform (PREP), hosted within UBCâs RISe system, has allowed a growing number of collaborative partners work together to support REBCâs province-wide, harmonized systems of ethics reviews.
