Yoan Machado

Dr. Yoan Machado studied biochemistry at the University of Havana, Cuba, and obtained his PhD in Molecular Biology at the University of Salzburg, Austria. He is a Postdoctoral Research Fellow in Dr. Chris Overall’s Lab in the Department of Oral Biological Medical Sciences at the University of British Columbia.

Machado’s research focuses on biochemical and structural aspects of protein allergens. He is currently using quantitative positional proteomics to elucidate how proteases prime allergic responses
