Yihang Pan

Dr. Yihang Kevin Pan is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Zoology at the University of British Columbia. He earned his PhD at the University of Ottawa under the supervision of Dr. Steve Perry with his thesis focusing oxygen chemoreception in larval zebrafish.

His research interest resolves around chemosensation, the perception of environmental chemical compounds and the subsequent processing of this information by organisms. He is currently working on the taste perception of human sweat in the yellow fever mosquito Aedes aegypti, in hopes of identifying taste receptors that might aid in curbing the spread of this deadly disease vector.
