Timo Tolppa

Dr. Timo Tolppa is a 2nd year PhD student at the University of British Columbia working to address inequities in clinical trial conduct and participation both globally and in Canada. His current work focuses on patient-centered informed consent, public engagement and capacity building for the conduct of pragmatic clinical trials in South Asia, where he previously worked as a regional clinical trial manager across India, Malaysia, Nepal, Pakistan and Sri Lanka. Prior to his PhD, Dr Tolppa graduated and worked as a physician in the United Kingdom, completed a BSc in Global Health at King’s College London, and worked on various educational global health initiatives in the Democratic Republic of Congo, Ethiopia and Sierra Leone.
