I am currently a postdoctoral researcher at the Federal University of Rio de Janeiro (UFRJ), soon to be a postdoctoral fellow at UBC. I hold a BSc in nutrition (with honors), a MSc in epidemiology, and a PhD in nutritional epidemiology. My PhD thesis focused on creating gestational weight gain charts for Brazilian women, and I have led the project to develop new gestational weight gain recommendations in Brazil since 2017. I am a founding member of the Brazilian Maternal and Child Nutrition Consortium.
I have been working on projects related to gestational weight gain since 2017, and I am currently a consultant in a Latin American project to create pregnancy weight gain charts for adolescents, led by the University of Antioquia (Colombia). I am also the data analyst of a project led by Harvard University aiming to create gestational weight gain charts for low- and middle-income countries.
I am interested on perinatal epidemiology, maternal and child nutrition, and on statistical methods applied to health research.
