Sahitya Hajirawala

Sahi Hajirawala is currently completing a Master of Science in Experimental Medicine at the University of British Columbia under the supervision of Dr. M Eugenia Socías at the BC Centre on Substance Use (BCCSU). He is the recipient of the CANTRAIN-CTTP & Michael Smith Health Research BC (Health Research BC) Master’s Studentship 2023 Award Program for his research in opioid use disorder. Sahi completed his undergraduate studies at the University of the British Columbia with Bachelor of Science in Microbiology & Immunology. Since, he has been involved with clinical research in addiction and substance use, in the areas of emergency medicine and tertiary treatment centres. His current research involves investigating the bidirectional effects of opioid agonist therapies and employment, in the context of opioid use disorder.
