Sabrina Wong

Dr. Sabrina Wong is a nurse and health services researcher. After completing her doctoral and post-doctoral work at the University of California, San Francisco, she took an appointment in the UBC School of Nursing and Centre for Health Services and Policy Research. Wong, formerly a Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research Scholar (2005), is currently the science lead of the BC Primary Health Research Network, the BC Node of the SPOR Primary and Integrated Health Care Innovation Network (PIHCIN) and the co-chair of the pan-Canadian PIHCIN. She is also the Network Director for the BC Canadian Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN) and was recently named the co-chair for the pan-Canadian Sentinel Surveillance Network (CPCSSN)

Her research examines the organization and delivery of health care services within the context of primary health care. She is a recognized leader in research involving patient-reported quality of care. Her recent work involves performance measurement and reporting and use of clinical data from electronic medical records in primary care. Her work has significantly contributed to informing practice and system level interventions that seek to decrease health inequities among Canadian residents, including people who face multiple disadvantages in accessing and using the health care system such as those who have language barriers and live in poverty.
