Dr. Ryan Flannigan is a surgeon-scientist in the Department of Urologic Sciences at the University of British Columbia. He serves as the director of the Male Reproduction and Sexual Medicine Research Program, and is the fellowship director for the Male Reproduction, Sexual Medicine and Microsurgery Training Program.
Dr. Flannigan’s research program works toward developing novel treatment strategies for male infertility, erectile dysfunction and Peyronie’s disease. Specifically, his RegenerAIT (Regenerative and Advanced Infertility Therapies) program is focused on understanding the molecular underpinnings of male infertility and developing technologies to overcome these barriers. He works closely with colleagues in computational science, biomedical engineering, clinical medicine, and biology to leverage interdisciplinary collaborations and work towards developing novel therapies for these conditions.
Dr. Flannigan was awarded the UBC Faculty of Medicine, Translational Medicine & Innovation New Faculty Position Award. His research has received grant support locally from VCHRI, nationally from CIHR, NFRF, CUASF and internationally from SMSNA, and ASRM.
