Rachel Carter

Rachel Carter is research scholar in Equity in Palliative Care at Providence Healthcare, and director of research at the BC Centre for Palliative Care. She is an adjunct professor in the Division of Palliative Care at the University of British Columbia. She has almost a decade of experience leading and managing research and implementation projects in the broader palliative care field. She has been using community-based research methods since 2015, with substantial work relating to community-led Advance Care Planning education workshops. Her expertise spans implementation science, knowledge translation, patient engagement, and quality improvement projects, utilizing both quantitative and qualitative research methods, and has a commitment to patient-oriented research principles.
