Olivia Ferguson

Olivia Ferguson is currently pursuing a doctoral degree in rehabilitation sciences at the University of British Columbia. Her academic journey began at Simon Fraser University, where she earned a B.Sc. in biomedical physiology. Notably, she conducted an honors thesis project focusing on the effects of high-intensity interval exercise on the mechanical response of the respiratory system in young, healthy adults. 

 

During her undergraduate studies, Olivia also undertook a summer student internship at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation in Vancouver. In this role, she was a valuable member of a data analysis team contributing to an innovative clinical trial investigating a novel exercise intervention for patients with idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis. 

 

Building on her education, Olivia earned an M.Sc. in rehabilitation sciences at the University of British Columbia. She has chosen to further her educational pursuits by embarking on a doctoral degree. Her current research focus involves studying the clinical implications of novel therapies on exercise tolerance in patients with interstitial lung disease through an engaging and impactful clinical trial.
