Nicholas Ainsworth

Dr. Ainsworth is a geriatric psychiatrist and clinical researcher who is currently a Marshall Fellow at the Institute of Mental Health, University of British Columbia. He completed his medical and postgraduate clinical training in psychiatry and geriatric psychiatry at the University of British Columbia. Following this, he completed a clinical research fellowship in late-life mood disorders with the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health (CAMH) at the University of Toronto, where he received specialized clinical training in the management of late-life mood disorders and research training in the conduct and design of clinical trials for late-life depression. He hopes to bring the skills he developed in clinical psychogeriatric research at CAMH back to BC and leverage them to build a research program in seniors’ mental health, with a focus on improving the clinical treatment and biological understanding of depressive and anxiety disorders in later life.
