Nelly Oelke

Dr. Nelly Oelke is an associate professor with the School of Nursing at the University of British Columbia, Okanagan. She is also co-scientific director for the Rural Coordination Centre.

As a health services researcher, her program of research focuses on integrated health systems and service delivery, particularly in primary healthcare settings. She has a particular interest in rural health services delivery, interprofessional collaborative practice in primary care, and mental health in rural communities. Her research uses an integrated knowledge translation approach, often using deliberative dialogue to co-create solutions for complex issues.

In addition, she is a strong proponent of patient-oriented research; most of her projects include patient partners on her research team.

Dr. Oelke has published over 50 peer-reviewed articles, a book chapter, and numerous reports.
