Neal Shahidi

Neal Shahidi is an interventional endoscopist at St. Paul’s Hospital and an assistant professor of Medicine at the University of British Columbia with a focus on endoscopic resection techniques and third space endoscopy. He completed his gastroenterology fellowship at UBC in 2018; subsequently completing his interventional endoscopy fellowship at Westmead Hospital in Sydney Australia in 2020 as part of the UBC Clinician Investigator Program. He is currently completing his Doctorate of Philosophy (PhD) at the University of Sydney focusing on delineating a selective resection algorithm for large colorectal polyps.

He has published over 70 peer-reviewed manuscripts/book chapters and 75 conference abstracts in high-impact journals including Gastroenterology, Gut, Lancet Gastroenterology and Hepatology, American Journal of Gastroenterology, Clinical Gastroenterology and Hepatology, Gastrointestinal Endoscopy and Endoscopy.

He is the co-founder of the St. Paul’s Hospital Advanced Endoscopic Resection Centre (SPARC) and is a member of the American Society for Gastrointestinal Endoscopy (ASGE) Quality Assurance in Endoscopy Committee.
