Lauren Tindale

Dr. Lauren Tindale is a post-doctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynaecology, working with Dr. Aline Talhouk. Her research focuses on risk modelling to improve diagnostic accuracy and detection in ovarian and endometrial cancer. Risk prediction models developed in this project will allow for the development of more personalized patient treatment plans and implementation of early interventions leading to improved care and better patient outcomes.

Tindale completed her PhD at Simon Fraser University and Canada’s Michael Smith Genome Sciences Centre in 2018 with Dr. Angie Brooks-Wilson. Her PhD research focused on genotypes and phenotypes associated with healthy aging and longevity in a healthy elderly population. Her doctoral work was supported by a CIHR Frederick Banting and Charles Best Canada Graduate Scholarship. After that, she did a post-doctoral fellowship at the BC Centre for Disease Control with Dr. William Hsiao where she examined methods for avian influenza genomic detection and surveillance in the environment.
