Dr. Laura Struik’s research program, which is also supported by a prestigious Canadian Cancer Society Emerging Scholar award, is focused on developing and testing novel solutions to address health risk behaviors among youth, particularly as it relates to nicotine product use. In collaboration with youth, and with strong national and international partnerships, Laura aims to push the boundaries of traditional approaches by incorporating youth culture, youth voices, and digital technologies to leverage the potential impact of behavior change interventions. A series of research projects are currently underway, and are particularly focused on developing more meaningful vaping prevention and cessation interventions for youth.
