Dr. Fern Jaspers-Fayer is interested in the brain mechanisms underlying normal and pathological emotional processing. To study these mechanisms, she has used a number of psychophysiological (e.g. event-related potentials), and neuroimaging techniques (e.g. functional magnetic resonance imaging, fMRI) in a variety of patient populations (depression, anxiety, OCD). She is also interested in sleep and biological rhythms, primarily because sleep disruptions can influence emotional processing.
