Dustin King

Dr. Dustin King is a post-doctoral researcher at Simon Fraser University (SFU) whose interests involve using structural biology, enzymology and chemical biology to explore the regulation of protein function and stability by post-translational modifications. While pursuing his Bachelor of Science in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of Northern BC, King received awards from the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada (NSERC) and the BC Cancer Agency to conduct cancer research in the lab of RNA biochemist, Dr. Chow Lee.

Dr. King completed a Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR)-funded PhD in antibiotic research in the lab of structural biologist, Dr. Natalie Strynadka at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He has authored numerous publications and was awarded the Governor General’s Gold Medal as UBC’s top graduating doctoral candidate. His CIHR- and MSFHR-funded post-doctoral is directed at studying the molecular underpinnings of Parkinson’s disease with renowned chemical biologist Dr. David Vocadlo at SFU.
