Daniel Marinescu

Dr. Daniel Marinescu received his medical degree from McGill University and completed residency training in internal medicine and respirology at the University of Toronto. He subsequently completed a two-year fellowship in interstitial lung disease and Master of Health Science at the University of British Columbia (UBC), with a focus in epidemiology and clinical research.

He is a clinical assistant professor in the Department of Medicine at UBC and a postdoctoral research fellow with the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation. He works as a respirologist at Vancouver General Hospital and The Lung Centre. Daniel’s research focuses on the morphology and diagnosis of interstitial lung disease, which he has studied in the CAnadian REgistry for Pulmonary Fibrosis (CARE-PF), the largest prospective registry of patients with fibrotic ILD in the world.

He is interested in understanding how genetics influence the manifestation and clinical outcomes of ILD, which he hopes will help lead to improved diagnosis and increasingly personalized medicine in this challenging disease.
