Carlo Menon

Trained as a mechanical engineer, Dr. Carlo Menon has received different awards including the IAF Napolitano Award (Spain), the Bionis Award (UK), the Canadian Institutes of Health Research (CIHR) New Investigator Award (Canada), and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) Career Investigator Award (Canada).

Menon’s expertise is on biorobotics, a discipline that merges the natural world with robotics. CIHR and MSFHR allow him to focus on the development of novel robotic technologies for improving the quality of life of individuals with neuromuscular disorders resulting from aging, stroke, injuries, or other diseases, and having weakened or hemiparetic upper extremities.

His productivity has been exponential and in the last three years he has had 71 publications, including 35 journal papers. He has served the research community as editorial board member of three journals, referee for 36 journals, conference organization committee member for 9 international conferences, conference program committee member and/or referee for 39 international conferences.
