Wearable sensors allow for healthcare monitoring outside of traditional clinical spaces and into the home or on the field. My lab deals with the development, validation, and application of wearable technologies for clinical applications ranging from fall detection in elderly adults to injury monitoring in youth sports. Underpinning our research is the characterization and mitigation of errors resulting from unknown real-world environments to improve our ability to use wearable data to make clinical decisions and diagnoses.
