Bradley Jones

Dr. Bradley Jones completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia in the Bioinformatics program under the supervision of Dr. Jeffrey Joy. His dissertation entailed exploring and implementing phylogenetic methods to estimate proviral integration dates of HIV sequences. Bradley is currently a post-doctoral fellow at Simon Fraser University in the Department of Mathematics, working with Dr. Caroline Colijn. His research focuses on developing and implementing models of infectious disease dynamics particularly of HIV. His methods make use of the evolutionary characteristics of pathogens through structures called phylogenetic trees. With these methods, he hopes to gain important insights about these pathogens that will aid in the management of pandemics.
