Dr. Alex K K Leung is a postdoctoral fellow at the Centre for Heart Lung Innovation at St. Paul’s Hospital and an MSFHR Research Trainee. His research focuses on the interplay between lipid biology and immune functions, particularly on the role of lipoproteins in mediating the clearance of bacterial endotoxins during sepsis.
He obtained his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of British Columbia, where he co-developed a novel microfluidic technology for the synthesis of lipid nanoparticle delivery systems for nucleic acid-based therapeutics.
