Dr. Adeleke Fowokan is the Leader for Clinical Research at Fraser Health’s Mental Health and Substance Use program. In this newly created role within Fraser Health’s Mental Health and Substance Use program, he provides leadership in the promotion, management, support, and execution of research that is rooted in patient-centred and trauma-informed principles. He is also responsible for strategic partnership identification and development aimed at research capacity building.
He completed his PhD at Simon Fraser University and his Master’s in Public Health degree at the University of Essex, England. He is interested in social and global health epidemiology, with a particular focus on chronic disease outcomes both in children and adults. He has collaborated on and led a range of large-scale research projects, including a first of its kind research project that utilized integrated knowledge translation approaches to explore the effectiveness of COVID-19 vaccines in people living with HIV.
