Michael Smith Health Research BC is British Columbia’s health research agency. Our ambition is to inspire and connect curious, creative and passionate minds to drive discovery and innovation for better health and health care.

Employee and Culture Spotlights
In many ways my work is unusual and non-traditional. Every day is different and I interact with a variety of health research teams doing research in multiple fields. It’s a pleasure to see how the research teams develop and grow as they learn how to bring the patient experience into their work, and patient-partners learn how to work with and guide the teams. This work doesn’t occur in a vacuum, and I’m fortunate to be surrounded by wonderful co-workers who are enthusiastic and devoted to improving health research — and are supportive of me in my work. The commitment from my colleagues and willingness to support each other make this a great place to work.

Team Good Times is a staff-led committee who volunteer to organize fantastic in-person and virtual events for colleagues. You can expect summer BBQs on our patio, tea and cake parties, virtual lunches and much more!
