Research Ethics BC in collaboration with Clinical Trials BC is excited to invite you to Clinical Research Ethics Symposium 2024.

The symposium is an opportunity for research ethics professionals and broader research community interested in clinical research ethics and clinical trials to discuss ethical issues around topics of interest in British Columbia and beyond.

Session 1: Tuesday, December 3 | 9:00 a.m. – 11:30 a.m. PST

 

The impact of climate change on study implementation
This session will explore the ethical impacts of unplanned interruptions and extenuating circumstances resulting from climate change activity.

Session 2a: The regulatory environment: ethical influences and impact
This session offers an in-depth look at the latest updates in governance and key regulatory documents that shape the ethical landscape of clinical research.

 

Session 2b: Consent and ethical considerations in critical care research
Experts will share their experience and insights on informed consent in clinical trials. The focus will be on cases where participants are unable to consent due to unconsciousness or incapacitation, particularly in emergency medicine and critical care research.

Behind the curtain of clinical trials: insights and perspectives of clinical trials coordinators
