Positioning BC’s health research system for the future

Health Research BC has a long record of enabling research excellence in British Columbia. For nearly 25 years, we have supported talent, contributed to system innovation and competitiveness, and accelerated the use of evidence.
As we look to the future, we are responding to both the challenges and opportunities of current fiscal realities and of an increasingly complex health research landscape. Our refreshed strategy for 2025-2028 lays out a roadmap for building on our successes in a rapidly changing environment.
We are advancing actions aligned with our three strategic directions to meet the current and future needs of British Columbia’s health research system.
- Build and retain health research talent
Research career pathways are changing. We will lead provincial discussions about talent needs and gaps – and their solutions – as we adapt our funding approach to the current environment. Read more - Catalyze health research system solutions

Our actions will be guided by collaborative dialogue across the community as well as expertise built through our history. We commit to working in partnership as we deepen and accelerate our work to maximize the impact of health research in British Columbia.
