Research Continuity Fund

The Research Continuity Fund was created to fill a gap identified during the extensive outreach conducted during the summer of 2020. We listened and we learned that health researchers need a fund to support and provide resources so they can continue to conduct world-class research during these times of unprecedented change. This fund will provide up to six months of salary support for Health Research BC-funded researchers who currently do not have support after their current award ends.

Eligibility

Applicants must:

  • Hold a Scholar, Research Trainee, or a Health Professional-Investigator award that has ended, or is scheduled to end in the fiscal year.
  • Not currently have a full time/permanent position.

How to apply

The application process involves two parts:

  • An online application form
  • A brief fillable PDF that must be signed by the department head (for a Scholar award) or supervisor (for a Research Trainee award), and uploaded to the application form prior to submission.

Timeline

For those whose awards have already ended or are due to end within the next month, the application process can be started immediately. Those whose awards are ending at a later date can apply one month before the currently scheduled award end date.
