Peter Unrau

Dr. Peter Unrau is a professor in the Department of Molecular Biology and Biochemistry at Simon Fraser University (SFU). His laboratory studies the origin of life and develops tools for the study of RNA biology. Recently his research group has developed cutting edge RNA aptamers to study RNA at the single molecule level within living cells.

Dr. Unrau obtained his PhD in Theoretical Physics from MIT and performed a post-doc at Whitehead Institute before establishing his own laboratory at SFU in 2001.
