Kendall Ho

Dr. Kendall Ho is a practicing emergency physician and head of digital emergency medicine at Vancouver General Hospital, and a professor in the University of British Columbia (UBC) Faculty of Medicine, leading the Digital Emergency Medicine unit (DigEM) within the Department of Emergency Medicine. He is an active researcher on digital health — the use of information technologies in clinical care — focusing on wearables and sensors in co-monitoring of patients with chronic diseases, virtual health technologies for health professionals to collaborate at a distance and raising digital health literacy of patients and health professionals.

Ho is a member of the BC Ministry of Health Home Health Monitoring Joint Management Committee, Canada Health Infoway’s Telehomecare forum and, a fellow of the Canadian Academy of Health Sciences. He is also executive director of the interCultural Online Health Network (iCON), a health promotion program aimed at chronic disease prevention and self-management among multicultural communities across BC.
