Dr. Yan Mei is currently a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of British Columbia. He is deeply committed to advancing research in the development of novel and simple materials for translational applications. Dr. Yan Mei completed his PhD in the Department of Pathology and Laboratory Medicine at the University of British Columbia, where his doctoral research focused on the development of a universal polymeric coating designed to prevent catheter-associated urinary tract infections. This innovation significantly enhanced the safety and performance of medical devices, ultimately contributing to improved patient health. Currently, Dr. Yan Mei is engaged in designing hybrid lipid nanoparticle systems that are capable of releasing their therapeutic payload in response to external triggers. This work holds the promise of evolving into clinically validated nano-medicine solutions.
