I am a first year Master’s student in the Women+ and Children’s Health (WACH) program at the University of British Columbia (UBC). I recently graduated from UBC with a Bachelor’s degree in Behavioural Neuroscience. My research focuses on improving outcomes for one of the most vulnerable populations: extremely preterm infants. Specifically, I investigate factors influencing neonatal health and long-term neurodevelopment, including the use of prophylactic indomethacin in micropreemies. By utilizing data from large-scale networks such as the Canadian Neonatal Network (CNN) and the Canadian Neonatal Follow-Up Network (CNFUN), I aim to improve health outcomes for preterm infants, while addressing the concerns that are most important to the families of this vulnerable population.
