Talia Salzman

Dr. Talia Salzman is a postdoctoral fellow at the University of British Columbia, supervised by Dr. Teresa Liu-Ambrose. Talia’s research examines whether changes in physical and cognitive function are methods by which exercise reduces falls. In addition, her research interests include promoting healthy aging through exercise interventions aimed at reducing falls, improving cognitive function, and slowing the progression of physical and cognitive frailty.

Talia completed her PhD in Human Kinetics at the University of Ottawa, where her research focused on understanding the neural mechanisms underlying dual-task performance in older adults with subjective cognitive decline. She has experience using functional near-infrared spectroscopy (fNIRS), electroencephalography (EEG), conducting evidence syntheses, and working on clinical trials that assess cognitive and physical function in older adults.
