Dr. Sunny Mangat has a PhD in Sociology from the University of Roehampton in London, U.K, a MA in International Politics and Human Rights from City University, London U.K., and a BA from Simon Fraser University. With a background in sociology and criminology, Sunny’s research has critically explored the experiences of Dalit women’s experiences of sexual violence in India. Examining the impunity of sexual violence against marginalized women with the context of their families, communities and the state. Sunny’s research interests focusing on how to improve the sexual and reproductive health of women and lesbian, gay, bisexual, trans, queer (LGBTQ+) international students from India.
