Spencer Skaper

Spencer Skaper completed his undergraduate at Mount Royal University, where he gained valuable research experiences while he led running energetic protocols in Dr. Jared Fletcher’s laboratory and co-investigated a high-altitude human adaptations expedition in Nepal with Dr. Trevor Day. Spencer is now a Master of Science student in Kinesiology at the University of Victoria, focusing on cerebrovascular health and exercise physiology. His research explores how exercise improves brain blood flow in individuals with Down syndrome. Under the mentorship of Dr. Kurt Smith in the Cerebrovascular Health, Exercise, and Environmental Research Sciences lab, Spencer applies advanced vascular ultrasound techniques to investigate brain blood flow to demonstrate the benefits of exercise on cerebral vascular health.
