Sarah Nutter

Dr. Sarah Nutter received her PhD in Counselling Psychology from the University of Calgary and is an Associate Professor of Counselling Psychology in the Faculty of Health at the University of Victoria. Dr. Nutter’s research is focused on weight-related issues, including weight stigma, body image, and eating disorders. She is particularly interested in better understanding how weight stigma is experienced alongside other forms of oppression in healthcare as well as other life contexts and the impact that these experiences have on the health of higher weight people in Canada. She was one of the keynote speakers for the 2024 Obesity and Hypertension in Canada conference co-hosted by Obesity Canada and Hypertension Canada.
