Patrick Mirindi

Patrick Mirindi is a dedicated PhD candidate at the University of British Columbia (UBC) in Applied Sciences (Environmental Systems Engineering), with a wealth of experience and passion for the field of public health. Patrick has actively contributed to global health initiatives. His work spans outbreak management (health emergencies—hemorrhagic viral disease outbreak management), toolkit development, and policy analysis. Notably, he collaborated with the World Health Organization (WHO) in Switzerland and various African countries.  

Previously, he focused on environmental health research with Johns Hopkins University School of Public Health (USA and DRC) and Tufts University (USA and Haiti). His research focuses on applying scientific knowledge to understand complex environmental systems affecting population health at the intersection of applied microbiology, public health policy, and environmental engineering. Patrick holds a Doctor of Medicine diploma and a Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences. He earned his Master of Public Health degree at the HUJI and trained in Epidemiology.
