Dr. Michel Roberge is a professor in the Department of Biochemistry and Molecular Biology at the University of British Columbia. He obtained his PhD from the University of Heidelberg, Germany, and carried out postdoctoral work at the University of California, Davis, USA and at the Swiss Institute for Cancer Research, Epalinges, Switzerland. He has been at UBC since 1991. He specializes in chemical biology and drug discovery.
Roberge’s work currently focuses on the discovery and development of small molecules that induce premature termination codon readthrough for the treatment of diseases caused by nonsense mutations.
