Dr. Melanie Murray is a Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia. She is also an Infectious disease specialist who provides HIV care at BC Women’s Oak Tree Clinic, and a Staff Physician at St. Paul’s Hospital, Vancouver. She earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology, as well as a medical degree and a PhD at the University of Manitoba in medical microbiology. She completed an infectious disease fellowship and an internal medicine residency at the University of British Columbia. Her research interests include, hormonal dysregulation, sexual and reproductive health, and comorbidities of aging, particularly in women living with HIV. She currently co-leads the British Columbia CARMA-CHIWOS Collaboration (BCC3), a cell to society study by, with, and for women living with HIV that is investigating healthy aging in women living with HIV. Community engagement and knowledge transfer is integral to her work; Dr. Murray works with women living with HIV and community members to conduct surveys and participate in/co-lead knowledge translation events.
