Dr. Maad Ebrahim is a postdoctoral fellow in the Department of Radiology at the University of British Columbia, working on A Machine Learning Method for Automated Intraoperative Assessments in Total Hip Surgery. He received his PhD in Computer Science from the University of Montreal in 2024, where he developed reinforcement learning solutions for distributed load balancing in Fog computing to support real-time IoT applications. His MSc research at Jordan University of Science and Technology (2019) focused on transfer learning, data augmentation, and feature concatenation for medical image classification. He earned his BSc in Computer Science and Engineering from the University of Aden in 2013. In 2024, he completed an internship at Ericsson GAIA AI Hub, where he developed and patented a reinforcement learning-based transmission control system for 5G mission-critical networks. His research interests include reinforcement learning, deep learning, edge AI, and intelligent health systems.
