Dr. Kwangjin Park received his master’s degree in biological sciences from Seoul National University, South Korea, and obtained his PhD in molecular biology and biochemistry from Simon Fraser University, Canada. As a graduate student, Kwangjin was awarded numerous studentships, including a prestigious Vanier Graduate Scholarship, demonstrating his outstanding research abilities.
Kwangjin is now a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Medical Genetics at the University of British Columbia. He studies liver development and cancer in the laboratory of Dr. Pamela Hoodless at BC Cancer Research Institute. As a recipient of a Health Research BC Research Trainee award, Kwangjin will investigate how chromatin landscape and gene expression changes affect liver development and cancer progression.
