Kathleen Inglis

Kathleen Inglis is an anthropologist and community-based researcher passionate about engaging people with lived/living experience in research as a matter of ethics and improved science. She is currently a CTN Postdoctoral Fellow and CIHR HSI Postdoctoral Fellow at the University of Victoria and BC Centre for Excellence in HIV/AIDS conducting research within the social study of HIV science and epidemiology. She is part of a collaborative community-led team using administrative health data research to examine recurrence of cardiovascular events among People Living with HIV compared to people living without HIV in BC. As a budding form of collaborative research, the research entails critical analysis of the research process to build a framework for greater, authentic engagement of community members in data science research. To date, Kathleen’s research, broadly interested in the ways that expert knowledge about health and health interventions get made, spans Ghana and BC.
