Dr. Jason Chan is a movement disorders neurologist at the Fraser Health Movement Disorders Program, located at the Jim Pattison Outpatient Care and Surgery Centre in Surrey, BC, and a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Division of Neurology, Department of Medicine at the University of British Columbia (UBC). He completed his Bachelor of Science (Honours) in Life Sciences at Queen’s University and medical training through the MD/PhD program at The University of Western Ontario, with a PhD in Neuroscience. He completed neurology residency at the University of Calgary and was a Parkinson’s Foundation Institutional Movement Disorders Fellow at the Norman Fixel Institute for Neurological Diseases at the University of Florida.
His research focuses on the use of functional neuroimaging, electrophysiology, and neuromodulation to study the network mechanisms of motor and cognitive control, and developing therapies based on understanding these mechanisms. He is establishing a Parkinson’s disease and movement disorders neurology research program in collaboration with the Simon Fraser University (SFU) ImageTech Lab Core Facility and Institute for Neuroscience and Neurotechnology.
