Dr. Jade Witten is a postdoctoral research fellow in the Department of Occupational Science and Occupational Therapy at the University of British Columbia, and in the Centre for Aging SMART at Vancouver Coastal Health. She earned a Master of Arts in Neuropsychology from the University of Cape Town in South Africa, and is a registered Neuropsychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa. Jade earned her PhD at Bangor University in the UK, where she developed an emotion management program for anger after acquired brain injury (ABI). Throughout her training, she received scholarship and funding to support her research, and impacted the lives of individuals living with ABI within their communities.
Jade has a keen research interest in developing and implementing community-based programs to support long-term health outcomes of individuals and families living with ABI. As such, she is currently investigating the implementation and effectiveness of a peer support program for adults with ABI in BC. Jade also has a passionate interest in supporting care partners of individuals with ABI, and plans to co-create programs to support their wellbeing and quality of life.
