Dr. Jacob Hutton completed his PhD at the University of British Columbia in Experimental Medicine. As a resuscitation scientist and active emergency paramedic, Dr. Hutton’s research focuses on the development and validation of technologies to improve survival from critical health emergencies such as cardiac arrest. His approach integrates a mix of observational research, clinical trials, biomedical engineering, and implementation science. As a post-doctoral fellow with the BC Resuscitation Research Collaborative under the supervision of Dr. Brian Grunau, he will focus on prospective validation of wearable technologies for cardiac arrest detection, as well as leading efforts to integrate these technologies into BC’s emergency healthcare system for real-world impact.
