Dr.Hashem Etayash obtained his B.Sc. with First Class Honors in Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences from the University of Elmergib Khoums Libya. He then completed his M.Sc. and Ph.D., also in Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
Currently, he is a postdoctoral research fellow at Prof Hancock laboratory, department of Microbiology and Immunology UBC, working on antimicrobials and host-defence peptides, with an emphasis on the development of new drugs to treat multi-drug resistant bacteria. Hashem is the recipient of 2018 Killam trusts Postdoctoral Research Fellowship and 2019 Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research (MSFHR) Trainee Award.
