Dr. Glen Foster is a professor at the University of British Columbia’s Okanagan campus and directs the Cardiopulmonary Laboratory for Experimental and Applied Research. His laboratory welcomes graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with interdisciplinary backgrounds including biomedical engineering, medicine, and kinesiology.
Foster received his MSc in Kinesiology at UBC and his PhD in Cardiovascular and Respiratory Sciences from the University of Calgary. His research focuses on human integrative physiology with interest in adaptation to hypoxia in health and disease. Specifically, his studies are aimed at developing novel treatment strategies for protecting patients with sleep apnea from associated cardiovascular disease.
Foster’s research is funded by the Heart and Stroke Foundation, the Natural Sciences and Engineering Research Council of Canada, and the Michael Smith Foundation for Health Research.
