Faisal Khosa

My research focuses on the provision of culturally competent care in the emergency department (ED). My team has conducted pilot studies on the importance of patient turnaround times in improving efficiency, decreasing crowding in the ED, resource reallocation and improving patient outcomes.

This research has also highlighted the prevalent racial and gender disparity and how this disparity impacts clinical decision-making, workforce morale, burnout, clinical trial recruitment, patient care, outcomes and patient satisfaction. Through this research, I mentor students and faculty from underrepresented and minority groups. My research and mentoring of minorities were honoured with recent awards including:
