Dr. Jan is a leading RNA biochemist and virologist with research focuses on internal ribosome entry sites (IRES), viral-host interactions, and viral proteomics. By integrating biochemical, genomics, and virology techniques, Dr. Jan explores viral translation mechanisms with the goal of harnessing them for mRNA therapeutics, including vaccine development and RNA-LNP technologies for cell-specific mRNA expression. Their innovative, interdisciplinary work has made significant contributions to both basic viral biology and RNA-based therapeutic strategies. Dr. Jan received his BSc in Biochemistry from Queen’s University, followed by a PhD in Developmental Biology from Northwestern University. Dr. Jan then completed a postdoctoral fellowship in virology at Stanford University, where they developed an interdisciplinary approach to understanding viral translation strategies. Currently funded by CIHR, NSERC, and InnovateBC, Dr. [Name] has published over 75 articles in leading journals, positioning them as a leader in RNA therapeutics and virology.Â
