Elizabeth Nethery

Dr. Elizabeth Nethery is a perinatal and reproductive epidemiologist with a broad interest in the impacts of research evidence on clinical practice. She is also a Registered Midwife (non-practicing) in BC. Her primary focus is in improving reproductive health and infant health outcomes through methodologically robust population health research.
Her PhD research focused on gestational diabetes and understanding how changes in clinical practices have led to an increase in incidence. She received several notable awards during her PhD including a Vanier Graduate Scholarship. She is currently a postdoctoral fellow supervised by Dr. Laura Schummers in the Collaboration for Outcomes Research and Evaluation at the University of British Columbia (UBC) and is co-supervised by Dr. Kim McGrail at Centre for Health Services and Policy Research. She is also affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine’s Midwifery program at UBC. Her current projects will include patient and policy-maker engagement as well as health services cost evaluations in assessing interdisciplinary maternity and infant care models in British Columbia.
